One of the oldest businesses
in Gosport began life in Clarence Road opposite the New Barracks and has since spanned three centuries

Yorkshire-born Matthew Mills established his bootmaking and repairing business in Gosport in the 19th Century, and whilst shoemaking is a thing of the past, the family firm continues at 95 Stoke Road in the hands of Matthew's great grandson, who specialises in orthopaedic modifications as well as repairing most leather items and all types of footwear.

Today at the Stoke Road shop you can buy suitcases, travel accessories, walking sticks, shopping trolleys, Zippo lighters, Swiss Army classics, leathergoods, including wallets, briefcases, handbags and purses.

Some products are available to buy online, including shoe and leather care products, leathergoods, travel accessories and folding walking sticks.

The shop is open Monday to Saturday 9am-5pm and there is plenty of free parking in the Jamaica Place car park, which is at the rear of the shop, just around the corner from Waitrose.
